I work for a Non-profit in Detroit, Michigan in which my objectives reflect the services that are needed in an identified community such as improving educational standards, assisting the sick to become well, helping the disabled to cope with challenges, and aiding the unemployed to get jobs. Also, the outcomes measured also may include reduction in crime, improvement in the region’s quality of life, and improvement in health and wellness. Hello everyone. I hope all finds you well. I am starring in a play along with Javon Johnson (Barbershop II, Daddy's Little Girl), Tonya Blount (Sister Act II and national recording artist), Myra Beasley (Marriage Counselor; Michelle), Keith Lewers (Meet the Browns), and many others. This is a professional stageplay and is also the first play to be shown on pay per-view online (www.turneronlinepresents.com). So this is actually an historical moment. This play was written and produced by Utrena Jo… Continue
A few months ago I posted this excerpt from my novel "Just a Season". I received a very special heartfelt request from a devoted follower asking me to repost “Granddaddy’s Lessons”. Although she calls herself “a fan of my thoughts,” I call her my friend. Therefore, I am honored to repost this message that I feel delivers a powerful message and I hope it will enlighten, empower, motivate, and touch your heart as well.

I heard a radio pundit recently scold his listening audience about the condition of our minds. He was talking about what he called the “Tim Man Syndrome” that many are experiencing in our culture. I must admit, I was a bit confused as to the point of his commentary until I made the connection to the Wizard of Oz where the Tim Man was lost, searching for a brain, and wanted the Wizard to give him one; when in fact he had a brain all along. During the speech I said in spite of this “we are still a nation of people, living within a nation, searching for a nationality”. A lady seated near the front spoke out, loudly I might add, saying “I am an American – I know my nationality”. I looke… Continue

The tone used against the justice during nominating hearings was such a sad commentary on the part of these “S… Continue

On the 13th of August, Bruce Black was born on Long Island, New York. At the age of six, Black first took interest in music after listening to the radio, hearing the layers of vocals, and musical instruments blending together making a beautiful sound through a black box. After he moved to South Carolina, Black sought to expand his knowledge of music by joining the band in middle school. He became a part of Winds section, playing the clarinet and in high school, he became familiar with playing th… Continue
